Kathleen Gilmore consults with R. King Harris at the Roseborough Lake site. Harris, who was for many decades the leading and most influential amateur archeologist in north and northeast Texas, had tentatively concluded that the site was La Harpe's post based on surface collections and limited testing beginning in the late 1950s. He encouraged Gilmore to dig deeper and reconsider the site's identity. TARL archives.
