These drawings by Richard McReynolds compare Golondrina points (top) and Plainview points (bottom). Both styles date to Late Paleoindian times and both share a similar lanceolate shape, flaking characteristics, and ground stem edges. The deep basal notch of the Golondrina type is usually accompanied by a pronounced flaring stem (basal corner or “ears’) that recall the split tail of a swallow (golondrina in Spanish).
