A few pieces of shell debris can be attributed to the on-site manufacture of shell ornaments and tools. These two fragments are part of the conch shell inner whorl. Note the straight edge on the lower left of each fragment that is the result of using a combination of groove and snap to remove desired pieces. The jagged edges reflect the use of direct percussion to break the shell to gain access to suitable sections of whorl and columella for tool and ornament blanks
