| Top of the thick oyster midden (Stratum 7) in Block 3 associated with the Aransas III component. Such massive accumulations of shell are obviously the result of multiple use events. The tight packing of the shells suggests the midden formed as a series of distinct discard piles that were repeatedly added to during several occupational events. TARL Archives. |
