Every time Arenosa was flooded, a new terrace surface was created on top of the previous surface. Prehistoric people lived on many of these surfaces, sometimes only briefly and sometimes for extended periods of time. From top to bottom, the terrace at Arenosa is 42 feet tall and contains 49 identifiable layers, half of which contain cultural material. ANRA-NPS Archives at TARL.
