Metal arrow point from campsite (41CX209) in the Pecos River valley in Crockett County. This area lay within the Jumano homeland and it is a reasonable candidate for a Jumano campsite. Nearby was a small hearth, chipped stone hide scrapers, and a nodule of red ocher. Thus far archeologists have yet to convincingly identify known archeological sites with the Jumano—mainly because the archeological signature of the Jumano is probably quite similar to that of both earlier and contemporary groups.
