| Pictographs at Hueco Tanks State Historic Site exemplify the range of designs utilized by artists of the Trans-Pecos. The panel shown at top left contains elements characteristic of the Jornada Mogollon, including a “goggle-eyed” figure at top, a stepped-fret “rain altar” in black above an animal thought to be a mountain sheep, and a mask.
