UT-Austin Anthropology Professor Emeritus William W. Newcomb, Jr., wrote perhaps the most comprehensive ethnography of the state’s native peoples, “Texas Indians,” published in 1984 by the University of Texas Press. He also collaborated in ethnohistoric research with T. N. Campbell.
