| Two “pincushions” made from agave and hundreds of agave spines recovered from Cueva Pilote. These implements were used for ritual bloodletting, a practice common in other parts of Coahuila and in Mesoamerica. Protein residue analysis conducted on agave spines from Cueva Pilote revealed traces of human blood. |
