View down into the excavations at the Devil's Mouth site in 1961. This terrace site proved very challenging because it was so deep and contained so many layers. The archeologists dug a series of excavation areas in different areas of the site designed to take advantage of the natural exposures along the plunging terrace edge cut by the Rio Grande.
