What are these men wearing instead of clothes? Nose rings, studs, fancy tattoos, and "mohawk" haircuts! These body decorations have been around a long time! Caddo people wore only a few clothes on warm days, but they decorated their bodies with ornaments and tattoos as well as body paint. Some of the body decorations would fit right in with some young people today. Check it out!
The men in this scene are exchanging gifts or trading special items. Some have brought shell from the Gulf of Mexico, axes made of polished stone from far away, and other rare objects.
