The Honey Creek site sits on a terrace overlooking the creek. The grove of live oak trees in this picture are growing out of the center of the site’s small burned rock midden. Honey Creek drains the Llano Uplift, carrying granite sands down the creek. The site itself is just on the edge of the Llano Uplift where the normal limestone bedrock of the Edwards Plateau resumes.
