Animal bones from three coprolites studied by Williams-Dean . In the group from coprolite No. 76, the large leg bone on the left is from a ground squirrel and is over an inch long. As is obvious, Hinds Cave occupants ate small animals (perhaps roasted, perhaps not) in big bites, without bothering to pick out the bones. Grab it and gulp. Photo by Williams-Dean.
