Double-basin milling stone fragment from Ingleside Cove (41SP120) dating to either the Late Archaic or Late Prehistoric. Coastal natives used such grinding slabs made of fine-grained sandstone to grind seeds and nuts. Relatively large grinding stone tools and fragments are very rare, while small fragments are more common. All along the Texas coast prehistoric peoples used and reused any available stone as long as possible. Photo by Robert Ricklis.
